TF# 598: Johnson describes a conflict with a schoolmate to Wheelock.
TF# 599: Joseph Johnson introduces himself as "The humble Petition of Joseph Johnson a license preacher of the Gospel among seven different tribes of New England Indians, and the Oneidas." Describes how himself, Toby Shattock, John Skesuck, and Samuel Tallman had moved to Oneida country, but decided to retreat because a rumor had spread to the Loyalist tribes that they were there to promote the American Revolution, which caused them to be worried for their safety. They all decided to return to CT, and asked the NY congress for money & a letter of safe travel.
